Doug & Lauren Norkin, Owners Doug and Lauren met on a warm Friday evening in September 2004 while playing with their dogs, Wolfgang and Kyler, at the Barron Cameron Dog Park in Reston, Virginia. For the dogs, it was love at first sight!   Doug graduated from The University of Maryland, College Park, with a degree in Physics and currently works as a Software Engineer.    Lauren graduated from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, with a degree in Natural Resource Policy.    Lauren currently works as a Executive Assistant, and owns/operates a boarding house company for students and transient professionals. The dog club and a dog and cat sanctuary had always been Lauren's lifelong dream; Doug was the [unfortunate] soul who came along at just the right moment when she was ready to fulfill it.    Doug and Lauren live on the property with their three dogs (Wolfgang, Kyler, and Henley—their latest addition from Hurricane Katrina), four cats (Celeste, Tommy, Toby, and Little Bear), and rabbit (Pedro).    You may recognize Wolfgang (left) and Kyler (right) in the logo. In 2008, they also welcomed their first "hairless puppy" into their family.
